Sponsorship/Financial Aid is assistance to cover some of a student’s Academic portion of the Townshend International School Annual Fee. Sponsorship/Financial Aid for the Residential portion is normally not available, and will be considered under special circumstances only. Sponsorship/Financial Aid is awarded based on documented financial need.

Townshend International School continuously seeks out individuals and companies that can help sponsor students who qualify for financial assistance. With the kind donations of Alumni, Friends of Townshend, and both local and international companies, we have been fortunate over the years to offer many sponsorships, but there are also times that we, unfortunately, cannot do as much as we would like and it is for this reason that we request that all applications for sponsorship be completed early. Students who are currently on sponsorship must complete a new application at the beginning of each school year.

Application Procedure

It is important that you complete all parts of the Application for Sponsorship/Financial Aid in order for the Committee to properly evaluate and consider the request for sponsorship or financial assistance, since we cannot evaluate missing information. All information provided will be kept confidential.

Criteria for Sponsorship/Financial Aid
Sponsorship/Financial Aid is awarded based on the following criteria: proven financial need; a record of conduct that is consistent with the vision of Townshend International School and evidence that the prospective recipient would enhance the Townshend community. All sponsorships/financial aid is partial. Students, parents or guardians must shoulder some of the costs of the student’s attendance at the school. The trustees of the fund do not wish to be intrusive, yet, in view of our priority to assist deserving students, we encourage applications from families who are truly in need of sponsorships. We strongly encourage you to first approach family and friends as the Sponsorship funds are extremely limited from year to year.
