The School Board includes the members of those boards required by the law regarding non-profit organizations. Nine members serve on the Townshend School Board. Of the nine, three serve on the Board of Trustees and three on the Board of Directors. The School Board carries the responsibility to safeguard the philosophy of the school and to focus the project.

The responsibilities of the Board:

• To set general policies;
• To define the vision and general direction of the school;
• To monitor the school in co-operation with the Director(s);
• To ensure continuity in the vision of the school;
• To attend to marketing concerns for the growth and long term development;
• To officially represent at government and institutional levels;
• To officially represent at meetings with the Baha’i Institutions;
• To increase financial commitments on behalf of the school;
• To preserve the permanent school site;
• To give final approval for the Director’s mandate;
• To monitor the development of policies
