On Sunday, a group of eight students and Year of Service Volunteers completed their training with materials from the Ruhi Institute in Columbia. These materials are part of a sequence of courses used around the world to empower people to move to the forefront of service and community development. This particular course, the second in the sequence, focuses on developing skills to engage in meaningful and elevated conversations within a community. The group gathered every week for some six weeks at the home the Khorram’s, where Mara Khorram facilitated the learning. Everyone was happy to complete this step in their personal development as agents of community growth.
