After weeks of preparation and hard work, students from Townshend arrived in Athens this week to participate in the Model United Nations Conference. According to Mr. Palsha, who helped prepare Townshend students for the conference, and who, along with Mrs. Lisa Williams, is accompanying them, “An MUN conference is a simulation of the real United Nations with students coming together as representatives of different nations to debate critical issues and solve global problems. We will be presenting our policy statements, resolutions and debating with among 25 schools and 250 students from other international schools, private schools and local Greek public schools. This is an exciting opportunity for students to engage in leadership skills through research, public speaking, writing and teamwork.”
