Students from Ms. Anisa’s primary class got some first hand in connection to delving into the science of metals as they reviewed their history unit on Ancient Greece. They got to experience a historic occupation — a blacksmith — by seeing what the workshop looks like, the tools and machinery used to make different products, and the living space of a blacksmith and his family. Students also got to take on the role of a blacksmith apprentice, each making a piece of a chain which they then linked together. It was an enjoyable day, and a creative way to connect the opportunities available in South Bohemia to their science and history studies.
