Last Friday, on October 12, several Townshend students participated in a Forest clean-up in the nearby city, Ceske Budejovice. This service project, named “Pomáhám, protože chci” (I’m helping because I want to) involves clean-ups of the local area in cooperation with the city hall. The Townshend community has been supporting this project, offering the students service experience in the area, and helping them develop a concept of responsibility for their surroundings.
Approximately 20 students from Townshend attended, alongside another group from a school in Ceske Budejovice. The programme lasted 3 hours with lots of laughing, new friends, and a spirit of service. It was a great bonding experience for the two groups, and several students from both schools have shared contact details and hope to keep in touch.
