Dear Parents and Friends,
We have been blessed as a school to have had many years of dedicated service from Mr. and Mrs. Sabri.
Their departure at the end of the school year means that this year’s Graduation ceremony will be the last time that we, as a community, will have the opportunity to farewell them, give thanks, and wish them abundant joy and happiness for their new endeavours in Haifa, Israel.
After Mr. Sabri leaves the office of Academic Director there will be a slight adjustment to the organisational structure of the school, so that next year our administrative system will have the position of ‘Head of Secondary’.
This role will take on many of the key functions previously carried out by the Academic Director - mostly related to the day-to-day functioning of the secondary school.
It gives me great pleasure to announce that Mr. Daniel Parrott has been appointed as Head of Secondary.
Mr. Parrott has been at Townshend since the start of the 2018/19 school year and in a relatively short time has become a well-loved and respected member of our school staff.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and Post-graduate Secondary Education qualifications from Massey University, New Zealand, and is a highly skilled educator with over 17 years of teaching experience mainly in the areas of Mathematics, Business and Physical Education.
In addition to teaching at several large schools in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, Mr. Parrott brings to us a tried and tested knowledge of school administration having held leadership positions such as Assistant Head of School in Brighton, England, Year-level Dean and Head of Sport in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
His proven ability and mature experience, combined with his infectious enthusiasm and energy, make him well-suited to take on the challenges of this position with creativity, vision and a sense of excitement.
Mr. Parrott owns a farm in New Zealand, enjoys trekking, canoeing and the outdoors in general. He is a sporting enthusiast who loves to travel.
Daniel is married to wife Lucie and has 3 delightful young daughters. We welcome him warmly to this role of service and wish him much strength, joy and happiness in carrying out this important function.
We hope to see you all at the upcoming Graduation ceremony on June 22nd.
Yours sincerely,
Vivek Williams
Director
